Ideal Home Exhibition - Central Feature
The central feature at the Ideal Home Exhibition was project managed for Bellway Homes by Nick Cockburn, Production Director of Plus Two.
Bellway Homes biggest competitor is actually second-hand housing (older properties purchased by house buyers).
The project involved recreating four period houses to illustrate the pitfalls they have (such as damp, central heating problems, drafts etc) against a state of the art modern Bellway Home.
Nick Cockburn, working with theatrical set designers, period furnishing experts, AV Technicians and landscape gardeners, recreated four properties that charted housing from the 1900's, 20's, 40's and 60's.
Around 200,000 visitors to the exhibition went through the feature which included an audio-visual experience. A virtual family 'grew up' with the visitors as they moved from house to house.
The experience received extensive media coverage with many different TV shows coming live from the feature. It proved so successful with the public at Earls Court that it was repeated at the sister show in the NEC.
